Glorystar purred again, and nodded his head. "Thank me not."
Yet then, a hiss came from the only other nest in the nursery.
Maplefrost had awoken from her sleep; though, that came as no surprises, considering how much of a light sleeper she was.
"You know," the she-cat grumbled as she lifted her head. "It's getting very crowded in here."
Branchadder's tail flicked irritably. He'd never particularly been fond of Maplefrost; well, ever since she'd become Glorystar's mate, anyway. Before then, she'd actually been kind of nice to be around...
Alas, indifferent to his mate's foul attitude, Glorystar just smiled and moved over to lick her ear affectionately. "My apologies; Branchadder and I will go and give you all some peace."
Yet it was at that moment that a little bundle of orange-and-white fluff poked out from Maplefrost's nest. It was Goldenkit; the yellow-and-blue-eyed kitten was looking with trembling whiskers toward Snakestrike and her new litter. At first he looked confused, but then he turned up to Maplefrost, blinking.
"Who're they, Momma?" he squeaked, to which his mother sighed.
"New kits, is all. Let them sleep."
Goldenkit tilted his head, but pulled himself out of the nest anyway. He was about to go over to Snakestrike and the two newborns, but he was caught by Glorystar's much-larger paw stamping down on his tail.
"Now, now, Goldenkit," the leader chuckled. "Mind your mother. Come on out into the camp with us, and let Snakestrike alone with her little ones."
When Goldenkit pouted and nodded his head, Glorystar picked him up by his scruff and carried him out of the nursery. Branchadder paused only long enough to nod his head to the two queens before he followed suit.
