What a smart-mouthed little she-cat she was. It was quite amusing, really; there was never a dull moment with Breathpaw around.
Leaving her to her devices, Branchadder padded in the opposite direction. He didn't get very far before noticing an all too familiar scent on the wind.
"Snakestrike?" he murmured thoughtfully, before trotting off toward the source of the scent.
When he found the Queen, she was barely away from camp; his ears perked up upon sight of her.
"Hey," he meowed to announce his presence; although it was easy to see him, thanks to his white pelt. "What are you doing out here?"

Breathpaw's slick silver flashed in the sunlight as she listened to the sounds of the wood around her. It was hard for her to hunt sometimes with that shinning pelt, but that was why she was paired with Branchadder she figured, with his bright white pelt, he knew how to deal with it. Then again, on cloudy days, she had a very good advanage.
She licked her paw as a bird flew above in the trees. She was so tempted to leave the prey where it was, deep in the ground. Breathpaw pondered the action for a while, sitting silently there in her sunny spot. Finally, she stood, looked quickly at the covered hole where the prey was, then scampered off a bit to explore.

Snakestrike looked up, a bit startled, "Oh it's just you." she murmured. "I'm just getting a little fresh air. I hate being cooped up in camp."

A bit of a smile touched Branchadder's face as he crept closer. "I hear ya," he chuckled. "If I can't leave camp, I get all finicky. I was hunting just now; do you want to come with me? It's dangerous being by yourself..."
(OOC: Owl. Branchadder toootally likes Snakestrike. xD)

"Um... Ok, I'd like that. I haven't hunted for ages, it seems. I doubt I'll catch anything though. I feel so fat!"Snakestrike said shaking her head.

To that Branchadder laughed, and moved closer so he could touch his tail-tip to the Queen's shoulder.
"I bet you'll find plenty," he purred reassuringly. "You've always had a sharp nose. Maybe if you scent them, I can pounce 'em for you?" A bit of a grin found its way onto his face. "It'll be like tagteam hunting!"

Snakestrike smiled, "Ok, let's try it." She was so excited she could barely keep from jumping around like a kit.

Side-by-side the two set out on their "tagteam hunting" escapade. Their tactic actually worked well; within only a little while, they had caught one starling, a robin, three mice, and a vole; only one squirrel had managed to escape Branchadder's claws.
Otherwise, he was struggling to carry all of their caught prey, and somewhere along the lines they made it to the spot where he had split up with Breathpaw before.
Putting down the kills, Branchadder sniffed briefly and glanced around. Then, his eyes narrowed.
"Breathpaw should have been waiting here by now." His ears flattened against his head, then perked up, as if in hopes of listening for his apprentice. But the forest yielded no sign of her. "Unless she went back to camp already..."
...Sighing and shaking his head, he turned those eyes to Snakestrike and offered a new smile to her. "How are you feeling? Do you want to go back now, or stay out a little longer?"

"I feel fine. Maybe we should look for Breathpaw?" Snakestrike posed the question. IN truth she had used it as a distracter. She was feeling a little out of breath and she could feel the kits moving around. She didn't think it was cause for alarm and she wanted to stay out longer.

Breathpaw came running. She was running as fast as any WindClan cat, but more silently then thought possible in a forest. A distressed look on her face, she closed off her mind from anything other then how to jump around trees and thorns. Suddenly, she jumped high over a stack over leaves into the small, clear spot Branchadder and Snakestrike stood with prey. Breathpaw closed her eyes as she landed, almost running into her mentor. That went fast. Very very, fast.
Breathpaw only felt silence for a moment, breathing hard, but not to loudly. She felt like for a few seconds everything in the forest had stopped. She didn't think; she only saw a replay in her mind over and over again. Her silver fur was splattered with blood, that shone oddly in the light like little holly berries. Her eyes were opened wide as in shock, but held no element of suprise. She stood for a moment longer, only to finally fall her to feet, her chest heaving up and down.
"Ouch."

Snakestrike looked at Breathpaw in alarm. Her tail puffed up to twice its size.

(OOC: ...WHY OWL IS DAT KIBA FROM WOLF'S RAIN ON YOUR ICON~?)
Branchadder's fur bristled with shock. It took all of half a second for him to rush over to his apprentice.
"Breathpaw! Great Stars, what happened to you?!"

"Stupid, brainless, dense, doltish, dull, fatuous, half-witted, mindless, oafish, obtuse, senseless, unintelligent, vacuous, weak-minded, witless two legs!" Breathpaw yelled, not caring that it would scare all the prey in the area away.
She ignored Branchadder easy, as she began cleaning her fur. Finally she looked at him and Snakestrike, "Those purblind things killed my bird with their long sticks! I almost had the thing, after a perfect climb and everything! Then, suddenly, blood is splattered all over me, and my bird is falling to the ground with a stalky two leg dragging it off. The sound was so loud! I tripped from my perch and almost fell off. Now look at me!"
Breathpaw hissed angerly, "Be careful of those things. The Long Sticks look far away, but they can kill you. I don't know how, so don't ask."

Branchadder could only stare in utmost confusion.
While he wanted desperately to know the full story of what had happened with his apprentice, Breathpaw was much too riled up to give him a decent report; plus, from all her hissing, he could only figure she was all right, so at least that worry was able to be put aside.
Gently as could be, he nudged the young she-cat to her paws, sighing. "Come on. You can tell me about it later. For now, we should get back to camp."
He moved, then, to where he'd dropped the prey he and Snakestrike had worked to catch, and stooped down to pick it all up in his jaws.

Breathpaw stood awkwardly, then dug up the rest of the prey. She moved slowly, being so from running so fast. She felt oddly sleepy. A run like that would have obviously tired anyone out, but not to the point that Breathpaw felt.
She shook her head, and padded back to camp.
